STEP 1 - Application Form

Interested in spending a 4 month "alternance" in Chicago?
​Sign-up by clicking on the button at the bottom of the page. Once you submit an application form, you will receive an email detailing how to submit the following documents: 
  • A letter of motivation in English stating how this program will impact your professional goals 
  • Your resume formatted for USA (see downloadable tips and template below)
  • Three dates/times at which you are available for an interview with Jonathan
  • Please join our Facebook Group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/seagullsptmgtsemester/
  • All of these documents are required and must be completed in order for your application to be considered. Seagull Institute will respond to your application within 7 days.

STEP 2 - Candidate Selection

If your application is accepted, you will receive a link with future instructions to continue the candidate selection and internship matching process. 
You will need to complete the following:
  • An oral English interview with the Seagull team 
  • Resume revisions (with Seagull assistance)
  • Cover Letter drafting (with Seagull assistance) 
  • Reference letter from an English teacher or previous employer
  • Transcripts from any universities attended
  • A certificate of your English level (minimum of 80 for TOEFL or 6.5 for IELTS) - if you do not have these documents, please let us know

STEP 3 - Internship Match

The results of the selection process will help Seagull Institute match you with the best possible internship. Seagull will be in communication with you throughout the entire matching process.

You may possibly be required to submit additional supporting materials at this time including but not limited to:
  • An interview with possible internship employers
  • ​A portfolio of prior work 

Note: You will not be charged for the program until you have been notified about successful internship match. 

Once matched with an internship, we will guide and advise you through the process to obtain a visa.  We will be here to answer any of your questions about your "alternance" program and we will help you be as successful as possible during your internship in Chicago. 


Confidentiality: All personal data and information will remain confidential. It will only be used by Seagull Institute to help you obtain the best internship. ​
