Participant misconduct
It is understood that the international implications of this agreement are such that the conduct of Participants during the course of the Program is of utmost importance. Participants, therefore, agree to conform to standards of conduct consistent with the positive reputation of Seagull Institute, and to conform to all applicable rules, regulations, and policies. The Participant understands and agrees that in the event the Program Officials should determine that the conduct or academic standards of Participants are detrimental to the best interests of the Program, Program Officials may terminate the involvement of Participants in the Program. You acknowledge and agree to abide by any Official Rules and Guidelines for the Program that may be posted at the Program's location, on the Program's website, or otherwise communicated to you verbally or in writing by Program Officials. Seagull Institute reserves the right to decline acceptance or retain any Participant in the Program if that person’s presence is felt by Seagull Institute to be detrimental to the enjoyment of the Program by others, dangerous to the Participant or others, or that fails to abide by Seagull Institute’s rules and regulations. Participants who have been removed from their Program waive the right to a refund of any part of the fee. Seagull Institute may send the Participant home at the Participant’s own expense.

Seagull Institute participants are expected to:
- Actively engage in all classes, company visits, and other outings. Listen attentively when someone is speaking and ask relevant questions.
- Be silent and respectful when others are talking.
- Turn off cell phones during classes and outings.
- Arrive for classes, events, and outings at least 15 minutes earlier than the time designated, in order to be ready to begin on time.
- Do homework to the best of your ability and finish it on time.
- Dress appropriately for the classroom, and in business casual attire for company visits.
- Respect all laws concerning smoking and drinking in the State of Illinois.
- Get involved in volunteer activities. Be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude at all times.
- Adopt the “ Can-Do Attitude ” which means being positive and trying new things, even though they may be outside your comfort zone.
Type of conduct leading to exclusion from the Program:
- If Participants are absent from classes, volunteer activities, company visits, or other scheduled events more than 3 times without prior permission from Program Officials, they will be excluded. Exceptions may be made in unusual circumstances, such as if the Participant is ill and can bring proof in the form of a letter from his or her doctor, or if the Participant has delayed travel plans and must be rerouted.
- If Participants speak or act in a disrespectful manner to staff, teachers, or professionals during our meetings, classes or outings.
- If Participants arrive late more than three times without prior permission from Program Officials.
- If Participants are directly involved in any incidents that are considered detrimental to the reputation of Seagull Institute and its partners. (Ex.Intoxication leading to further disruptive incident(s), physical altercations, confirmation of drug use)
