Nicole Gotthelf
Intercultural Communications Instructor
Nicole Gotthelf has over twenty years non-profit leadership experience in organizations furthering the missions of social change and economic justice, international development, land use, environmental conservation, arts and culture. She has experience in facilitating organizational strategic planning processes, developing strategies for implementing fundraising and communication plans that increase funding and visibility of organizations. Nicole also has extensive experience in managing a comprehensive donor stewardship program. She has successfully developed, implemented, and marketed grant-making programs for non-profit organizations.
Currently, she is the President of Nicole Gotthelf & Associates. As a consultant, Nicole has worked with both international and US clients. She has taught non-profit management practices, strategic communications, fundraising techniques, event management, and proposal writing techniques. Nicole worked in Institutional Advancement at the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) where she also worked for the communications department. She has served as the Director of Development for the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, the Major Gifts Officer for the American Friends Service Committee, and the Executive Director of Community Shares of Wisconsin. She worked at WORT-FM Radio in Madison, WI for ten years, where she additionally served as the Producer of a morning talk show. Nicole was elected and served on the City of Madison Common Council for eight years. She currently serves on the board of Community Media Workshop.
Nicole has a Bachelor's of Arts in Geography from Beloit College. Fluent in French and Spanish, she has lived in France and Latin America.
