Javier Monllor
Entrepreneurship Instructor
Dr. Javier Monllor is an assistant professor at DePaul University. He earned his doctorate from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and he holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez. His research interests include social entrepreneurship, opportunity recognition, innovation, and creativity.
At DePaul, he oversees the undergraduate entrepreneurship club, where the students practice pitching new business ideas and meet with local entrepreneurs. The club holds an annual conference, and has even travelled to Puerto Rico for a networking opportunity and entrepreneurship conference.
Javier has published several articles and presented papers at dozens of conferences, including Montreal, Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Karlsruhe (Germany). His articles have appeared in the Journal of Small Business Management, the International Journal of Entrepreneurship, and Small Business.
When not teaching or researching, Javier is an avid triathlete, qualifying for the USA Triathlon National Age Group Championship and competing in Ironman Competitions.
