We are searching for an intern who is ready to grow with us as we continue to expand our business. The intern we seek has an entrepreneurial spirit and thrives in a startup environment. If you have an absolutely contagious “Can-Do Attitude”, are very organized, and strongly value offering an outstanding experience to our participants, then we’re interested in you!
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Intern reports to the program manager and the event coordinator of Seagull Institute and is able to work as a team member and independently. The Intern supports the planning of all activities in Chicago and helps coordinate program activities in other countries, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
In-between programs: work is performed remotely from the intern’s home.
During the program: (when participants are in Chicago) work will be performed at our US partner Universities and Company Partners. Intern needs to be flexible and available to work in downtown Chicago.
Intern must have the ability and willingness to work nights and weekends while participants are in Chicago.
PHYSICAL FACTORS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel the computer; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must have a US work visa or be a US permanent resident or US citizen.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Intern reports to the program manager and the event coordinator of Seagull Institute and is able to work as a team member and independently. The Intern supports the planning of all activities in Chicago and helps coordinate program activities in other countries, as needed.
- Provide support to Event Coordinator when facilitating information sessions and activities with groups of students, professionals, and entrepreneurs, face-to-face and online
- Represent Seagull and its values to participants through a Can-Do Attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
- Support Event Coordinator for all program logistics including the evaluation, coordination, arrangement and negotiation process for housing, classroom rentals, food and transportation
- Support outings and tourism activities
- Support Event Coordinator in creating, monitoring and delivering original content for social media accounts
- Support Event Coordinator in creating and delivering marketing materials, such as company website, brochures, and client pitches
- Support Event Coordinator with copywriting and copyediting for all marketing materials
YOUR KNOWLEDGE
- Current university student in bachelor’s or graduate program
- Experience and/or interest in event planning and marketing
- Interest in the field of personal development and leadership
- Curiosity about the world of business. Please note that our Programs are specialized in: marketing, business administration, e-commerce, retail, supply chain management, procurement, human resources, sports management, etc.. We are looking for someone who has an appetite to learn more about the world of business
YOUR SKILLS
- Some experience in event management and marketing
- Good organizational skills, both in terms of time management and detail-oriented work
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- A Can-Do Attitude with a curiosity for learning and desire to be coached
- Willing to take initiative and be flexible
- Intercultural experience and competence is a plus
- Commitment to diversity and equity, including comfort working with a diverse team
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, CRM, CMS)
- Familiarity with Google programs (Google mail, calendar, drive, etc.)
- Familiarity with social media platforms and how to maintain a social media presence
- Good writing, editing, and communication skills
- Fluency in French is a plus but not required
